Goals, Goals, Goals!

As mentioned previously, one of the main issues currently with Manchester United is the lack of goals. We have been able to do extremely well because of our defense; however, now that the transfer window is open, we need to look for a striker, if not two, in order to improve and compete at the highest level. We have plenty of wingers, so there is no need to go and look for any.

There have been many rumors and links to a bunch of different players. The main players that we were linked to, but there was also a debate on which you would rather have, was Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen. Harry Kane, turning 30 this year,  plays for Tottenham and was the second top goal scorer in the premier league, with 30 goals. In the majority of premier league seasons, 30 goals would win you the golden boot. However, Haaland exists. Victor Osihmen, aged 24, currently plays for Napoli in the Italian League and won the Capocannoniere, the most goals, 31, in the league. Most Manchester United fans would prefer Osihmen mainly because of how young he is, but Napoli will likely not sell Osihmen. Harry Kane would also be fantastic. However, recently he has been linked with Real Madrid, and with Manchester United and Tottenham both being in the same league, Tottenham would likely ask for 110 upwards of 120 million, which makes absolutely zero sense.

With both Kane and Osihmen out of the picture, one player that is almost guaranteed to join is Rasmus Hojlund. He currently plays for Atalanta in the Italian league and has scored 9 goals this season in the league. He is only 20 years old, which explains why he may not have as many goals as other players, as he is not always a starter. For his age is a solid player and seems to be wanted by the manager. With Hojlund likely to come to Manchester United, there are also other strikers that the club has been linked to.

Some other links to different players include Kolo Muani, who plays for Frankfurt in the German League. There is also Goncalo Ramos, who plays in the Portuguese League for Benfica. These two rumors are more realistic. There have been some extremely unrealistic links that make no sense, like Kylian Mbappe, just because of the possibility Manchester United is sold to Qatari's Sheikh Jassim as PSG is owned by the state of Qatar.

Hojlund seems like the only guaranteed strike that we are going to get. With the ongoing sale of Manchester United and depending on who the owner is, the amount of money that may be in play for the manager may differ by as much as 100 million, which significantly impacts which players we would go for.

  1. Hello Julian,
I agree Oshimen is an absolute stud. Fantastic goalscorer and wonderkid and United could use him for sure if they were able to get him. I agree that a Harry Kane move to United from Totenham wouldn't make sense as they would be giving one of the best goalscorers in the world over to the competition, and real Madrid is most likely looking to move in on Harry in looks of replacing an aging Benzema. If Hojlund gets transferred, it will be interesting to see the impact he makes at such a young age!
