Most Important: The Base

     Now that I have discussed what transfers are a possibility and what we need in attack, it is time to talk about defense and midfield. When it comes to the midfield, we need more squad depth, as we have a great attacking midfielder and a great defensive midfielder. We need either another defensive midfielder or a midfield that can do both attacking and defending. When it comes to defense, we need another center-back and possibly a goalkeeper.

In the midfield, we have been linked with three main targets, Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount, and Declan Rice. The best choice if we were to get a midfielder would be Declan Rice, as a defensive midfielder is preferable. Declan Rice is young and a world-class defensive midfielder for West Ham. Many other teams are looking to buy him. However, the only issue with Declan Rice is his price tag, not to mention Manchester United is in the midst of an owner change which has made transfer talks and deals extremely harder.

The two main options that are viable currently are Mason Mount which we have made three bids which all have been rejected. However, it seems Mount wants to move to the United, and I do no doubt we will get Mount for around 55 million, including add-ons. When it comes to Caicedo there are many teams in the running, and with this transfer rumor being new, I am not completely sure if we will get him.

Defensively, we need another center-back immediately. The main target for the past month and a half has been Kim Min Jae from Napoli. We were almost guaranteed to close the deal when Bayern Munich came in quickly and have likely secured a deal with him instead of United. It is extremely frustrating, and at this point, I have no clue who were are going to get as a center-back. Also, another recent issue is our goalkeeper has suddenly been linked to teams in Saudi Arabia, and with his exit, we do not have a solid keeper, which is a major proper. We have been linked to other keepers like Onana and Diogo Costa. However, this transfer window has been really messy for United as the sale of the club has thrown a major loop for the manager.
