Most Important: The Base

Now that I have discussed what transfers are a possibility and what we need in attack, it is time to talk about defense and midfield. When it comes to the midfield, we need more squad depth, as we have a great attacking midfielder and a great defensive midfielder. We need either another defensive midfielder or a midfield that can do both attacking and defending. When it comes to defense, we need another center-back and possibly a goalkeeper. In the midfield, we have been linked with three main targets, Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount , and Declan Rice . The best choice if we were to get a midfielder would be Declan Rice, as a defensive midfielder is preferable. Declan Rice is young and a world-class defensive midfielder for West Ham. Many other teams are looking to buy him. However, the only issue with Declan Rice is his price tag, not to mention Manchester United is in the midst of an owner change which has made transfer talks and deals extremely harder. The two main options that ar

Goals, Goals, Goals!

As mentioned previously, one of the main issues currently with Manchester United is the lack of goals. We have been able to do extremely well because of our defense; however, now that the transfer window is open, we need to look for a striker, if not two, in order to improve and compete at the highest level. We have plenty of wingers, so there is no need to go and look for any. There have been many rumors and links to a bunch of different players. The main players that we were linked to, but there was also a debate on which you would rather have, was Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen. Harry Kane , turning 30 this year,  plays for Tottenham and was the second top goal scorer in the premier league, with 30 goals. In the majority of premier league seasons, 30 goals would win you the golden boot. However, Haaland exists. Victor Osihmen , aged 24, currently plays for Napoli in the Italian League and won the Capocannoniere, the most goals, 31, in the league. Most Manchester United fans woul

End of Season; New Beginnings?

On Sunday, May 28th, the premier league season officially ended. Manchester United placed third in the league compared to sixth last season. After being in three cup competitions, one European and two domestic, we won the EFL Cup, made it to the finals of the FA Cup, and were knocked out of the Europa League in the quarter-finals. After placing third in the premiere, we have been guaranteed a spot in the champions league. Compared to last season, this season has been successful. After appointing a new manager, Erik Ten Hag, for this season and upcoming seasons, you cannot ask for more. Placing in the top four of the premier league and winning a trophy is arguably one of the greatest debut seasons for a Manchester United manager. Not to mention, Erik Ten Hag has one the most amount of games for a debut manager for Manchester United. The club has seen obvious improvement with the new manager, especially at home games.     When it comes to the season, there are three areas to talk a

Overview

Hello everyone,      My name is Julian Basaka. I am from San Diego and am currently a sophomore at SDSU. It is obvious what is going to be talked about as mentioned by the title of the website. One of my main interests currently and likely for a long time is playing and watching soccer. When constructing this blog and deciding what I wanted to speak about I wanted to choose something which I readily know about. Something that I am extremely opinionated about that I know I do not need to search for much information for. I want this blog to have facts but also be opinionated. That is watching soccer.      The team I support is Manchester United. Here is our badge below.      We play in the highest tier of English soccer and are currently third in the league. In English soccer, the highest league is called the premier league with 20 teams in total. Each team plays 38 games, 2 games against every other team. A win gets a team 3 points, a draw is 1 point, and a loss is 0 points. The b
